Completing his distilling apprenticeship south of the Alps, Master Distiller Hans brought this unique recipe home to Bavaria. Hans perfected the recipe by incorporating aromatic herbs from the region. Until now only family and friends had the pleasure of tasting his fine creation of the Mondino Amaro Bavarese. A secret recipe so beautifully crafted it will offer a different dimension to the classic cocktails out there.
The 100% organic Amaro is handcrafted in the foothills of the Bavarian Alps using an original Italian recipe, Mondino unites Italy’s joie de vivre with the precision of Bavarian craftsmanship. Over 20 herbs, roots and spices are selected and macerated for over 3 months before combining with an organic wheat based spirit. Organic arancia amara, organic rhubarb and organic yellow gentian, organic hibiscus, along with other fresh locally sourced ingredients, give Mondino its unique flavour.
The organic hibiscus used delivers an intense red colour. Initial sweet aromas of rhubarb and orange are followed by a pleasant herbaceous note. A well rounded balance of fruity spirit, with no overpowering herbal notes on the palate. Fresh acidity and subtle bitterness on a smooth long finish.
