Edinburgh Seaside Gin - 70cl - 43% ABV
Originally made with foraged shoreline botanicals, Seaside Gin was the first of Edinbugh Distillery's collaborations in partnership with Heriot-Watt University’s Brewing and Distilling MSc course.
They sourced marine plants including scurvy grass (fresh but slightly spicy flavour, related to the mustard seed), ground ivy (has a fresh aroma similar to parsley) and bladder wrack (sweet and slightly saline flavours, resulting in a refreshing combination).
These are complemented with aromatic spice notes from grains of paradise, coriander and cardamom. Bottled at 43% ABV, Seaside Gin makes for a bracingly refreshing G&T, and perfectly garnished with a sprig of green samphire or lemon thyme in summertime.
