Pampelle Ruby L'Apero - 70cl - 15% ABV
£20.00
Tart, sweet and refreshing, the red ruby grapefruit is very dominant
Crafted on the banks of the River Charente in the Cognac region of France, Pampelle Ruby L'Apero is made from the infusion of citrus peels, natural botanicals and Eau de Vie, brought to life by a key ingredient: ruby red grapefruit from the Mediterranean island of Corsica.
To make it, grapefruits are distilled three ways - some of the grapefruits are halved and macerated at length until full extraction occurs, fresh peels are added into the stills and pressed grapefruit is added post distillation. If this wasn't enough citrus, they also add yuzu, cedrat alongside cinchona bark quinine and natural Gentian bitters
NEGRONI ADVICE -
You can replace Campari or Aperol for Pampelle, but go easy on the dose as it's not as bitter and the citrus can quickly overpower so a little goes a long way instead of the usual equal parts. We tend to use dry vermouth when using it too as the sweetness is already in this delicious grapefruit bomb of a bitter.
