Crème de Cassis de Dijon has been the symbol of tradition and expertise at Maison Boudier for more than 100 years. The region is famous for the liqueur, so much so that "Crème de Cassis de Dijon" is a protected geographical indication now recognised all over the world.
Indeed, only Crème de Cassis de Dijon has to be made from the extract of macerating blackcurrant berries in alcohol without preservatives or colouring, with a limited addition of sugar dissolved directly into the alcoholic juice of the blackcurrant berries at cold temperature. It's a rigorous process and one that means that the liqueur is highly regarded.
We love it in a Bramble, but it also works well as an alternative to using sugar syrup in a twist on a French 75 (lemon juice, gin, cassis topped with bubbly).
